After Brian's previous band "Musclecar Junkies" disbanded, he was looking for something different something that was his own making. Dissatisfied with the "Cover" band idea, he opted to start writing original songs for a project called "Raizer", and the concept was born. He then decided to start singing and still playing guitar, and makes demo recordings of the first real Metal songs he had ever fully composed, with music and lyrics... He then decided to move to a new project, one named after one of his tracks "Heavy Metal Witch". He then looks up Mike Gonzalez again after almost three years and begins talks to bring him into the new project, eventually he agrees. In May 1998 they make a first recorded semi practice. Together they mold the direction of the band and Brian then begins writing a new "Metal Witch" song.
After making some headway in writing and a few more get togethers they being working out a few more songs together and make a couple recordings of the still in progress Metal Witch and an instrumental named "Witch Hunt". Then in September, Brian's Step Brother Jeff Thew, bassist of local band "Swill City" agrees to play drums on a temporary basis for them. They begin their first few practices as a three piece. Brian write "The Beast" a fan favorite, after hearing a punk riff from Jeff's main band. Adding in some Black Sabbath influence, the song was born. Renny Johnson joined the band and worked out the solo for Beast.
In October 1998 Brian talks fellow Smyrna High alum Rich Husfelt into playing drums for them. Brian heard Rich play in High School and thought only of him when they got serious enough to need a true Metal Drummer, and as luck would have it, Brian's brother Tom knew Rich from a local pool hall, "Breakaway Lounge" in Smyrna, and sent him over. Practices began with Brian, Mike, Renny and Rich. They came across a few personal issues and at the moment felt they needed to take a very short break, Renny was notified and once band activities resumed, he never returned. The other memebers came back together and began working as a three piece, and many songs were written as the three remaining members clicked and practiced, Rich's Drums added exactly what was needed. Rich was instrumental in the bands direction at the time, his playing style influenced how many songs were written along with Mike's voice. Brian wrote with those two in mind, and when they came together at practice, magic happened, as they would describe it. In March, their first fully recorded practice was also video taped.
Work chugged along and then in February 1999, they approach Jeff again, but this time to record their demo album, which would go on to be called "The Witching" which never does get mixed down until 2003, because after recording it, they decide to go for it and keep practicing to actually do a true studio EP vs a demo.During this this time Scott Bartlett comes and goes on Bass and Rich left for a couple months then rejoined. And upon his return they hit the practices hard and serious so they can produce the best recording they could. Then what would become the EP title track was written, and with the Y2K approaching they decided instead of "Time To Kill", they would call the EP "T2K". Time to kill happened like magic, they rehearsed it the least amount of time and in the studio they would nail it. The recording occured over two days and the third they mixed. The magic was noted by the owner of the studio "Hey Joe" Grant, who said that they were the fastest band to ever record in his studio, that they came in knowing what they were doing and wasted no time. They recorded January 9th & 16th then mixed on the 17th in 2000. Brian edits the tracks and in May they released T2K, they begin work on their demo EP called "Witch Trials" but not long after it's completion, Rich leaves for good.
After placing many ads, guitarist Dean Woolridge auditions for the lead spot, along with him is his friend Jason a Drummer. But after a few weeks Jason decides that he can't keep up yet, and leaves, but Dean stays around. Mike approaches a talent agency about securing a deal. Darryl Bryant joins the band on drums and later on they were contacted about a record deal, but seeking legal advice, they were advised not to proceed (later it was apparent that they should have taken it). Jason Cotton joins the band on Bass but towards the end of that month Dean is let go. And then in a moody rebellion Darryl & Jason leave the band as well. But later that year Matt Watson joined the band replacing Jason on Bass and Anthony Childers joins the band replacing Darryl on Drums, they write music to and record one of Tony's songs "The Warrior" and a second version is also made replacing Tony's lyrics with ones written by Brian, and the resulting "Wings Of Glory". A hiatus happens where Brian goes to Michigan for a while and meets his future Wife, then announces he is leaving the band. A decision he later admits was a mistake. The remaining three decide to continue for a bit, but then call it quits. Later in 2002 Brian, Mike and Tony attempt to recreate the magic of T2K with Tony, but a falling out in the studio led to a quick split yet again. No hard feelings were left as Brian and Tony talked over their disgreement and remain in contact to this day.
Brian moved to Michigan, and Mike moved to Germany, but in 2005 they decide to try again over the internet sending tracks back and forth and trying to record, a fellow Metal Head Mark Phantom who Mike met in Germany agreed to join on Bass and Matt Watson as well on Bass and Guitars. They proceed for about a year, but things apart and they called it quits again, but, many good songs were written during this time, and had to wait to be heard.
Brian starts a Rock project named "Bryn-Zion" and goes it alone in 2011, meanwhile Mike and Mark progress on their own project "Infinite Ascension" Mark leaves and Mike alone tries to carry on, then he approaches Brian who he never lost contact with, they corresponded back and forth all the time. Mike asked Brian to join him, and take over the vocal duties Mark vacated, he agreed after much deliberation. And at this point in time now in 2017 They are working together again, then decide to now since they posess technology they didn't have to redo all the Metal Witch songs and release studio collections in Volumes of two, six tracks each. A name change to avoid any potential legalities over the name Metal Witch and now they are working away, a new site, new partial demo and a new era.
