A Brother in Metal Lost Too Soon.

1/22/24

We are sad to learn of Rich Husfelt's passing. Mike and I went to High School with him, and I had the pleasure of seeing him play drums in the band room. His playing left a mark on me, so much so that when Mike and I decided to try having a band, he was the first and only drummer that I thought of to come play with us. After my step-brother Jeff played a few jam sessions we decided to look Rich up.

He agreed to check out the music and agreed to make it happen. We worked hard together on the music, Rich was a huge part of getting us going and he struggled, although never told us why. I found out only a few years back his true struggle. If not for Rich our early music never would have happened, and for that he has my respect and it was an honor to have played with him for two years.

His drumming style stayed with me and formed the basis for everything I write to this day and in the future. I planned to do remixes of our Witch Trials demo album and use what I could of his drums to make new versions of those songs. I wanted to have him listen when I was done. Now, they will serve, when finished, as a tribute to him. RIP Brother, we will miss you, but your presence will live on in the music.
